Stock Markets to Remain Closed on November 20 for Maharashtra Assembly Elections
Nagpur, India: The National Stock Exchange (NSE) will not operate on November 20, due to the Maharashtra Assembly Elections. Trading will be paused for the day, as per the announcement made in a circular.
The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) is expected to announce a similar trading holiday for November 20, in line with the NSE, as both exchanges typically follow the same schedule for holidays and operating hours. Both exchanges are also closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
November will have its third holiday for traders, with the first one being for Diwali. However, a special Muhurat trading session of one hour was held in the evening during that holiday.
The stock market will also be closed on November 15 for Guru Nanak Jayanti. Voting for the Maharashtra Assembly elections will take place on November 20, and the results will be announced on November 23.
