Stolen from Metro Station: Nagpur Crime Branch Recovers Five Vehicles
Nagpur, India -In a recent development, the Nagpur Crime Branch has successfully recovered five stolen vehicles, including a scooter, which were taken from the Chhatrapati Chowk Metro Station. The operation, conducted by Unit 1 of the Nagpur Crime Branch, led to the arrest of a vehicle thief from Sakkardara.
The accused, identified as Harsh alias Ikka Mahendra Ramteke, aged 23, originally from Tiroda, Gondia, was apprehended from Bhande Plot in Sakkardara. The police investigation revealed that Ramteke was responsible for stealing an Activa moped from the Chhatrapati Chowk Metro Station on April 12.
The theft came to light when Pratik Balraam Yergude, a resident of Muskan Apartment, Trimutri Nagar Chowk, reported that his Activa moped with registration number MH/34/AT/5670 had gone missing from the metro station where he had parked it between 7:30 pm and 9:30 pm on April 12. Upon discovering the theft, Yergude promptly filed a complaint at the Rana Pratap Nagar Police Station.
Subsequent investigation, aided by CCTV footage and human intelligence, led the Crime Branch to Ramteke. During questioning, Ramteke admitted to not only stealing the Activa from the metro station but also confessed to stealing four more vehicles from different areas, including Ganeshpeth, Rana Pratap Nagar, and Tiroda.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of senior officials, with a team comprising PI Suhas Chaudhary, API Sachin Bhonde, and several police constables including Ritesh Gedam, Baban Raut, Vinod Deshmukh, Sunil Gujar, Hemant Lonare, Sharad Chambhare, and Sonu Bhaware.
The successful recovery of the stolen vehicles highlights the efficiency and dedication of the Nagpur Crime Branch in combating vehicle theft in the region.
