Students Skipping Classes for JEE, NEET Prep; Schools Caught in Scam

Nagpur, India: A new report has uncovered how some schools in Nagpur are breaking CBSE rules by allowing students to skip regular classes. The investigation reveals that coaching institutes are partnering with these schools to help students focus only on entrance exams like JEE and NEET.

The schools involved are enrolling students on paper only, meaning the students don’t attend regular classes but are still registered for Class 12 board exams. Coaching institutes like Brilliant Academy and Success Tutorials and many more are linked to these schools.

Some of the schools involved include:

  • Kendriya Vidyalaya

  • St. Xavier’s School

  • Delhi Public School (Lava)

  • Dinanath School

  • Sancheti School

  • Centre Point School (all branches)

  • School of Scholars (all branches)

  • St. Paul’s School

These schools are part of a system where students avoid attending classes and instead focus solely on coaching for entrance exams. This system has become a business model, with middlemen connecting coaching centres to dummy schools for a commission. The racket is said to be worth crores of rupees.

Even though the CBSE warns that students who don’t attend regular classes could be barred from board exams, this practice continues. Experts are concerned that this system harms students’ education and could affect their future. Authorities are being urged to take strict action to stop this illegal practice and ensure students follow proper educational rules.
