Subhash Nagar, Pardi Area's Footpath Collapse Creates 24-Foot Hole
Nagpur, India- Continuous heavy rains over the past two days have caused a footpath in Subhash Nagar, Pardi area, to collapse, resulting in a 20 to 24-foot wide hole on the street on Monday. This incident is similar to one that occurred during the last heavy rainfall, yet no preventive measures have been taken by the administration this year.
Upon hearing about the incident, a Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) team promptly arrived at the scene. They have implemented safety measures and set up barricades to protect the public.
Nagpur has been experiencing heavy rainfall for the past few days. After an Orange Alert on Sunday, July 21, a Yellow Alert was issued for the city on Monday, July 22. As a precaution, Nagpur District Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar has declared a holiday for Anganwadi centers, all schools, colleges, and coaching classes in the district.
