Nagpur, India: Cleanliness is an integral part of life, and pollution reduces human lifespan, stated Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. He urged the residents of Nagpur to take a pledge to uphold cleanliness, and to remember our fundamental duties as a citizen.
The "Swachhata Hi Seva" campaign, organized under the guidance of the central government, concluded with a program at Kasturchand Park from September 17 to October 2. During the event, various heritage sites in the city were cleaned in the presence of Gadkari.
At the ceremony, Gadkari praised the concept of the Municipal Corporation's ‘RRR’ (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) centre and expressed confidence that efforts to generate income from waste would empower women. He also proposed incorporating tyres and plastics into asphalt to create better-quality roads.
