Sword Attack in Ramtek Leaves 42-Year-Old Man Injured
In an incident on January 1 around 8:50 pm, a 42-year-old man, Narayan Kumbhalkar, was assaulted with a sword by two individuals in Ramtek. The attack occurred while Kumbhalkar was inspecting a new building near Nagardhan. Rajendra alias and Ajay Ramesh Bandhane, who were reportedly intoxicated, confronted him without provocation. Despite attempts by Suresh Kamdi to defuse the situation, the assailants left after issuing threats.
However, Rajendra returned wielding a sword and struck Kumbhalkar on the head. Fortunately, Kumbhalkar managed to escape. Later, Ajay caught up with him, and Rajendra attacked again, but Kumbhalkar was rescued by friends and Suresh Kamdi. After receiving initial medical treatment, Kumbhalkar was referred to Nagpur for further care. The Ramtek police have filed charges against the accused under sections 307, 506, 34, and the Arms Act.
