Teenage Girl Attempting to Flee to South Korea Intercepted at Nagpur Metro Station

Nagpur, India: A teenage girl from Selu attempted to flee to South Korea after being scolded by her mother for not completing her household chores, but her plan was busted when she was intercepted at the Sitabuldi Interchange Station in Nagpur.
The girl arrived at the metro station determined to purchase a ticket for international travel, insisting on a journey to South Korea, which shocked the metro staff. Concerned for her well-being, a vigilant ticket clerk quickly alerted their superiors, who intervened to assess the unusual situation.
Despite being informed that metro services do not operate to South Korea, the girl remained insistent. Recognizing that she may have run away from home, staff engaged her in conversation, eventually gaining her trust. It was during this interaction that she confided her reason for leaving: frustration after an argument with her mother.
Metro authorities swiftly contacted local police, who discovered that the girl’s parents had already filed a missing persons report in Selu. The police coordinated with her family, who rushed to Nagpur to reunite with their daughter.
Officials praised the metro staff for their quick response, noting that the girl's mention of South Korea was crucial in identifying her precarious situation. Without their intervention, the girl could have been at risk of falling into unsavory circumstances.
This incident highlights the importance of awareness and vigilance among transportation staff in safeguarding vulnerable individuals in public spaces.
