Temple Removed for Road Widening on Besa-Pipla Road in Nagpur

Nagpur, India: In a move aimed at improving traffic flow and infrastructure, a temple situated along the Besa-Pipla route was removed by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) as part of a road widening initiative.
The action was carried out on Friday under tight police supervision to ensure peace and avoid any disruptions. The civic body had earlier issued notices regarding the encroachment, stating that the structure was obstructing planned road development in the area.
While a few local residents expressed concerns, the operation was completed without incident. According to officials, the widening of the Besa-Pipla road is essential due to the area's rapid growth and increasing traffic volume.
To address the sentiments of devotees, the temple was relocated nearby, allowing worship to continue without inconvenience.
The Besa-Pipla stretch is part of a larger development plan that includes road upgrades and improved public facilities. Civic officials have stated that while development is necessary, care will be taken to respect cultural and religious sentiments wherever possible.
