Notorious Gangster Abu's Empire Demolished in Nagpur Police and NMC
The Nagpur police and Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) collaborated to destroy the residence of notorious gangster Abu (also known as Feroz Khan) and his associates. On a Sunday morning, eleven houses owned by Abu and his relatives were demolished in the Tajbagh area, marking a significant victory against crime in the city.
Abu has a lengthy criminal record, including over 40 cases of murder, assault, robbery, and illegal possession of firearms, making him a well-known figure of terror in Nagpur. To ensure smooth execution, the demolition was carried out under tight security arrangements. The joint operation involved a heavy police presence, conveying that the city is committed to combating crime and maintaining public safety.
The Enforcement Department of NMC demolished not only Abu's residential properties but also various commercial buildings that were illegally constructed on Hazrat Baba Tajuddin Trust's premises in Taj Bagh. These unauthorized constructions were attributed to individuals such as Farukh Ghafur Sheikh, Abu Aziz Khan, Wasim Khan, and Amjad Aziz Khan, leading to the entire demolition of these structures.
For two decades, Abu ruled over the city as a notorious smuggler, earning a reputation for his criminal activities. However, his reign of terror ended abruptly when he was arrested in Bhandara in June 2022 and subsequently imprisoned. The residents of the Tajbagh area had been living in fear for over four decades due to his criminal empire and unlawful deeds.
A team of dedicated individuals, including Vinod Kokarde, Bhaskar Malwe, and Pralad Patil, worked together under the guidance of Assistant Commissioner of Enforcement Department Harish Raut, AC Nehru Nagar Zone Ghanshyam Pandhre, and NMC official Sanjay Kamble to execute a successful operation. Their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the city's residents was evident through their hard work and dedication.
The recent joint operation by Nagpur police and NMC has sent a clear message to criminals that their activities will not be tolerated in the city.
