Aashiqui 3: Why Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela's Film Avoids Using the Title
There is a lot of confusion around the title of Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela's upcoming movie directed by Anurag Basu. Although many people thought the film was called Aashiqui 3, the makers have confirmed it does not have an official title yet.
The confusion started when the first look of the movie was released with a press note calling it Aashiqui 3. But the message was soon deleted. Despite the excitement, the film has not been officially named yet, and the makers only mentioned it as an untitled film.
The movie had been linked to the Aashiqui franchise for months. Kartik Aaryan’s character even sings the famous song "Tu Hi Aashiqui Hai" in the teaser, which made people think it was the third part of Aashiqui. However, the producers later confirmed that it was an untitled project.
The reason behind the confusion is a legal battle. Mukesh Bhatt, who produced the first two Aashiqui films, took the matter to court. The Delhi High Court ruled that T-Series could not use the Aashiqui name in the new movie’s title, as it could confuse with the original series. This decision led to the search for a new title.
While there were talks about calling the film Tu Aashiqui Hai, Kartik Aaryan still hopes to include Aashiqui in the title. This has caused delays in making the final announcement.
The film is expected to release in theatres during Diwali 2025, and the makers will need to announce the title soon to begin promotions. Fans are waiting eagerly to see Kartik in his new role.
