The Kerala government has awarded hockey legend PR Sreejesh ₹2 crore
Indian hockey legend P R Sreejesh received a ₹two crore cash award from the Kerala government on Wednesday. According to a CMO statement, a decision was made in this regard during a Cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
"P R Sreejesh, who was a member of the Indian hockey team that won a bronze medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics, will be given a cash award of ₹two crore," read the announcement.
Sreejesh, a Kerala native, said goodbye to the sport after playing a pivotal role in the nation's silver medal victory in the recent Olympic Games in Paris.
