The physiotherapist of Jannik Sinner discusses the doping scandal

Recently, Jannik Sinner has been embroiled in a doping scandal that cast doubt on his victory at the US Open. It was disclosed ahead of the US Open that he tested positive twice for anabolic agents in March but escaped punishment.

An independent panel approved his defence, which stated that accidental contamination had an impact on the test results. At the end of August, Sinner dismissed Umberto Ferrara, his sports trainer, and Giacomo Naldi, his physiotherapist, accusing them of causing the erroneous contamination.

WADA then filed an appeal with the Court of Arbitration of Sport during the final week of September, claiming that it was "seeking a period of ineligibility of between one and two years."

"It is not possible to specify a time frame for the issuance of the decision at this time," the CAS stated in a press release. Except for the parties' right to file an appeal with the Swiss Federal Supreme Court within 30 days for specific grounds, the CAS Panel's judgement shall be final and binding." Recently, Naldi discussed the incident and said he would come forward "sooner or later."

Sinner has been working with Ulises Badio, his new physiotherapist, and Marco Panichi, his new trainer, for a few weeks now. He'll be hoping for a favourable outcome from the latest CAS ruling.
