Thief Arrested in Sitabuldi with Stolen Mobile Phones Worth Rs 2.50 L
In a significant breakthrough, Sitabuldi Police apprehended a thief identified as Suraj Siddharth Somkuwar (27) for his involvement in a series of burglaries aimed at acquiring expensive mobile phones. The arrest came after a spate of thefts in the area, with the latest incident occurring at the residence of Kanchan Arjun Warade (45) in Anand Nagar, Sitabuldi, between March 3 and 5.Somkuwar was found in possession of nine mobile phones and jewelry valued at Rs 2.50 lakh. Law enforcement authorities, through thorough investigation, were able to link Somkuwar to the burglaries and subsequently took him into custody.During interrogation, Somkuwar confessed that his primary motive behind the burglaries was to fund his obsession with costly mobile phones. He admitted to committing three thefts in the Sitabuldi area. Police recovered a total of nine mobile phones believed to have been purchased by Somkuwar using the proceeds from the thefts.The arrest was made under the guidance of DCP Zone II, Rahul Madne, and led by Sr PI Asaram Chormale. The operation received assistance from API Santosh Kadam and a dedicated team comprising Chandrashekhar Gautam, Sandip Bhokhre, Shatrughna Munde, and Prashant Bhoyar.
