Three Arrested for Black-Marketing LPG Cylinders in Beltarodi
Nagpur, India: Beltarodi Police arrested three individuals, including two brothers, for illegally black-marketing LPG cylinders. The police seized 32 domestic LPG cylinders from Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), 19 commercial LPG cylinders, a Mahindra Alfa Diesel Tempo (MH-49/D-0987), two cellphones, and equipment used for transferring gas from one cylinder to another. The total worth of the seized items is estimated to be ₹2.34 lakh.
The accused have been identified as Pawan Rakesh Rehar (20), Ramu Kalicharan Rehar (22), and his brother Ravi Kalicharan Rehar (19), all natives of Agra district, Uttar Pradesh. The trio was residing in a rented accommodation at Plot Nos 33-34, Sai Charan Society, New Manish Nagar.
Police caught the three suspects red-handed while they were transferring LPG from domestic cylinders to commercial ones, which is illegal. A case has been registered against them under Sections 3 and 5 of the Essential Commodities Act.
The arrests were made by Senior PI Mukund Kawade, PSI Amol Shinde, and their team under the supervision of Additional CP Shivajirao Rathod, DCP Rashmita Rao (Zone IV), and ACP Vinayak Kote (Ajni Division).
