Three goons from wadi sentenced for gangrape of minor girl

The girl was forcefully taken by Sheikh, Chintu Patil, Dinesh Pawar, and the juvenile delinquent to the broken wall of the MSED-CL office where they committed the atrocious act of rape and forced her to engage in oral sex by threatening her with severe consequences. The victim, terrified and traumatized, was coerced into silence by the perpetrators who warned her not to disclose the incident to anyone, instructing her to fabricate a story about being demanded Rs 2000 by them. Due to the fear instilled in her, she kept the harrowing experience hidden from her friends and family on that fateful day.

It was only after attending a 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' program at her school on January 18, 2017, that the victim found the courage to confide in one of her teachers about the ordeal she had endured. The teacher, upon learning of the horrific incident, promptly involved the victim's parents and advised them to seek justice by reporting the culprits to the police. Subsequently, a complaint was lodged by the victim's mother with the Wadi Police, leading to the registration of a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (PoCSO) Act against the accused individuals.

Following a thorough investigation by Dhanashree Kutemate, the accused - Irfan Sheikh, Chintu Patil, and Dinesh Pawar - were charged and brought to trial. The court, after examining multiple prosecution witnesses, found the perpetrators guilty of the heinous crimes committed against the victim. As a result, Irfan Sheikh, Chintu Patil, and Dinesh Pawar were sentenced to 20 years rigorous imprisonment along with fines for the offence under Section 376-D of the IPC, and three years rigorous imprisonment with fines for the offences under Section 354A and 34 of the IPC. The court also ordered that the fines, if paid by the convicts, would be given to the victim as compensation. Additionally, the Senior Police Inspector (Wadi) was directed to locate the victim and her family for further assistance and protection.
