Tiger Found Dead in Nagpur Forest: Natural Cause Suspected
In Nagpur Forest Division, a tiger was discovered deceased near Rui village of Butibori. The tiger's body was missing two nails, but the rest remained intact. This discovery, approximately 16 kilometers away from Nagpur city, was made during routine maintenance work near Eden Park in Butibori.
Upon finding the carcass, a team from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited alerted the Forest Department. Subsequently, foresters arrived at the scene and conducted necessary procedures following guidelines set by the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA). Post-mortem results indicated the tiger was around 4 to 5 years old, with the cause of death suspected to be natural.
Due to the carcass's advanced decomposition, determining its gender was difficult. DNA samples were taken for further analysis. Dr. Bharat Singh Hada supervised the operation, joined by officials from Nagpur Forest Division and other concerned parties.
