Tiger Rescued from Well Near Khapa, Sent for Treatment in Nagpur

Nagpur, India: A tiger that fell into an open well on a farm near Khapa in Nagpur district was rescued by the forest department on Monday. The tiger was later sent to the Transit Treatment Centre in Nagpur for medical examination.

The incident took place in Sironji village when Rajendra Raut’s mother went to the farm to collect cotton. While giving water to the cattle, she noticed the tiger trapped inside the well. Since the water level was low, the tiger was not fully submerged.

She immediately informed the forest department. A rescue team, led by Range Forest Officer Sachin Athawale, rushed to the location. The department also alerted the Transit Treatment Centre in Nagpur, and a team was sent under the guidance of Deputy Conservator of Forest Dr Prabhu Nath Shukla.

After a two-hour-long rescue operation, the tiger was safely pulled out of the well and placed in a cage.

Deer Rescued from Well in Wanadongri

In another incident, a deer was rescued after it fell into a well near a farm in Sukali (Gharpure), along the Samruddhi Mahamarg. Local farmers spotted the trapped deer on Wednesday morning and informed Hingna Range Forest Officer Reena Rathod.

Rathod and her team attempted to rescue the deer but faced difficulties. They then sought help from the Wanadongri Nagar Parishad Fire Brigade. Fire Officer Sanket Mate and his team arrived with special equipment and successfully pulled the deer out of the well.

Both incidents highlight the need for proper safety measures, such as building parapet walls around open wells, to prevent such accidents and protect wildlife.
