Traffic Restrictions in Nagpur for 'Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana' Event

The Nagpur Police have announced several traffic restrictions in the city ahead of the 'Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana' program scheduled for August 31, 2024. The event will take place at Reshim Bagh Ground in Nagpur from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with a large number of women expected to attend from across the city and district.

To ensure smooth traffic flow and public safety, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Shashikant Satav has issued an order restricting the entry and parking of vehicles in certain areas around the event venue. A total of 868 buses will be transporting participants from various locations in Nagpur District, adding to the anticipated congestion.

The following routes will be closed to all types of vehicles:

  1. From C.P. & Berar to Awari Chowk to Krida Chowk.
  2. From Krida Chowk to Awari Chowk to C.P. & Berar College.
  3. From Ashok Chowk to Apsara Chowk to Bhola Ganesh Chowk.
  4. From Bhola Ganesh Chowk to Apsara Chowk to Ashok Chowk.
  5. From Ashok Chowk to Awari Chowk to Sakkardara Chowk.
  6. From Sakkardara Chowk to Awari Chowk to Ashok Chowk.
  7. From Keshavdwar to Gajanan Maharaj Chowk, and vice versa.

Alternative routes will be provided for diverted traffic:

  • Vehicles coming from C.P. & Berar College towards Awari Chowk will be redirected to Ram Cooler Chowk and Jhenda Chowk.
  • Traffic from Ashok Chowk heading to Bhola Ganesh Chowk will be diverted towards Ramkuler Chowk.
  • Vehicles moving from Ashok Chowk to Sakkardara Chowk will take the route via Medical Chowk.
  • Traffic from Krida Chowk to Apsara Chowk will be diverted to Tukdoji Chowk and Medical Chowk.
  • Vehicles traveling from Sakkardara Chowk to Ashok Chowk will be redirected through Chhota Tajbagh Chowk and Tiranga Chowk.
  • Traffic from Bhola Ganesh Chowk to Ashok Chowk will be diverted via Jhenda Chowk Mahal and Sakkardara Chowk.

Only government vehicles, ambulances, fire brigades, and buses transporting women for the event will be allowed on the restricted routes. All other motorists are advised to plan their routes accordingly and use alternate roads to avoid inconvenience.

These restrictions will be in effect from 5:00 AM until the end of the event on August 31, 2024. The police have made arrangements to inform the public through loudspeakers and local announcements.
