Tragedy Strikes at Ambala Lake: Nagpur Man Drowns During Pilgrimage
A sad incident occurred at Ambala Lake when Vijay Dhamaji Binekar, a 48-year-old man from Nagpur, tragically drowned during a pilgrimage. The incident happened around 12:30 PM while Vijay was participating in the Dasakriya ceremony.
Vijay had come to Ambala with his relatives to perform rituals for his sister-in-law. After completing the ceremony, they went for a bath in the lake. While descending the steps, Vijay slipped and fell into the deep water. Despite efforts from his relatives to save him, Vijay couldn't be rescued in time.
The police were informed about the incident, and they worked with local fishermen to retrieve Vijay's body from the lake. His body was sent for post-mortem examination afterward.
This incident has brought attention to the lack of safety measures at Ambala Lake. Despite being a popular pilgrimage site, there are no proper facilities or security arrangements in place. The absence of safety barriers and designated bathing areas poses a risk, especially for women. Authorities need to address these issues to prevent such tragedies in the future.
