Tragic Incident: 2 Bodies Recovered, 2 Still Missing After Picnic Friends' Drowning
A group of 6 friends ventured for a picnic at the Waki Kanhan River complex, resulting in an incident. On Thursday, 4 of the friends, including 3 boys and 1 girl, tragically drowned. Despite immediate efforts by the SDRF team, the bodies could not be located by late evening. The search operation resumed on Friday, yielding the discovery of a boy and a girl's bodies. However, the search for the remaining 2 victims is ongoing.
Following the Thursday incident, a thorough search for all 4 bodies was conducted. On Friday, the SDRF team, led by officials like Dr. Priyanka Narnavare, Sontakke, Badal Biswas, and Urat, resumed efforts to find the missing bodies. The bodies of Sania Maraskolhe and Vijay Thackeray were found during the search. However, the bodies of Arpit Patil and Anshul Baghel remain unlocated, with rescue operations postponed due to darkness.
Social worker Hitesh Bansod, along with associates Shubham Thakur, Munna More, Sumit Lakade, Tushar Asole, Tushar Mahalle, Ankit Futane, and Piyush Suryavanshi, have been assisting authorities since the incident occurred. The bodies recovered on Friday were transported to Savner Rural Hospital for postmortem through Bansod's free ambulance service. The search for Arpit Patil and Ankush Baghel's bodies will resume on Saturday morning.
