Train Crash in West Bengal: Eight Dead, Around 60 Injured

India - Eight people died and about 60 were injured in a train crash in West Bengal on Monday morning. A goods train collided with the stationary Kanchnajungha Express in New Jalpaiguri, causing one wagon to lift off the ground.

Authorities suspect "human error" and are investigating the cause. Emergency services arrived quickly, and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee assured swift action.

The deceased include the drivers of both trains and the guard of the Kanchanjungha Express. Rescue operations have been completed, and the injured are being treated at a Siliguri medical college.
