Two Arrested for ATM Fraud, Rs 70,700 Stolen Cash Seized

Nagpur, India: Two criminals were caught for tampering with an ATM in the Wadi area. They would manipulate the ATM to trap customers' money and then take it later. The police identified them using CCTV footage and caught them by setting a trap.

The two arrested individuals have been identified as Roshan (also known as Monty Samuel Verma) and Palash (also known as Gochya Rajendra Meshram), both from Imamwada. On February 24, they went to the Axis Bank ATM on Khadgaon Road and used an aluminum strip to block the machine’s cash dispenser.

When customers attempted to withdraw money, their cash would get stuck in the ATM. The accused would then take advantage of this situation and withdraw the money later, once they saw the opportunity.

When the police reviewed the CCTV footage of the ATM, they discovered the involvement of both accused. Based on the footage, the police quickly took action and apprehended the two individuals. Following their arrest, the police seized items valued at Rs 70,700 from them.
