Two Arrested for Storing Gas Cylinders Illegally in Yashodhara Nagar

Nagpur, India: Yashodhara Nagar Police arrested two people for storing gas cylinders illegally in Nagpur. The police acted on a tip-off from Shilpa Darekar, a Food and Distribution Officer, and raided Kundanlal Gupta Nagar.

The arrested individuals were Khurram (37) and Sheikh Yunus (35). They were caught filling gas from HP cylinders into a vehicle using a motor pump and pipes.

The police found more than just the illegal gas storage. They seized two auto-rickshaws, one car, and one three-wheeled vehicle, all filled with sealed and partially filled gas cylinders. They also found a gas-filling machine and an electronic weighing scale. In total, 33 gas cylinders were recovered, with the estimated value of the seized items being ₹15,18,900.

The police charged the accused under the Essential Commodities Act for illegal storage and distribution of essential goods. The two suspects were arrested and are now in police custody. Investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of their illegal activities.
