Nagpur Police Arrested Two with Banned Nylon Manja Worth Rs 1.55 Lakh in Nandanvan

Nagpur, India: Crime Branch Unit 3 of the Nagpur Police acted on a tip-off and intercepted two young men with banned nylon manja. At around 9:30 PM, while patrolling in the Nandanvan Police Station area, the police team stopped a suspicious moped near Hanuman Mandir in Adarsh Nagar. The moped, with registration number MH 49 DX 5431, was being ridden by 2 individuals—Shameem Shakeel Khan, 18, from Adarsh Nagar, and Pratik Ram Srivastav, 18, from Dhanwantari Nagar.
A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 50 rolls of nylon manja, a material banned for its dangerous use in kite flying. The accused were allegedly carrying the manja for sale. The total value of the seized goods, along with the moped, is estimated at Rs. 1,55,000.
The individuals were arrested for violating Sections 5 and 15 of the Environment Protection Act, 1986, and Section 223 of the IPC. Both the accused and the seized material were handed over to the Nandanvan Police for further investigation and action.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Police Commissioner Ravindra Kumar Singla, Additional Commissioner Nisar Tamboli, and Deputy Commissioner Rahul Maknikar, with the help of Police Inspector Mukund Thackeray and his team.
