Two Brothers Arrested for Attempted Murder with Sword in Gorewada
Mankapur Police apprehended two brothers for their involvement in a grievous assault on a youth with a sword at Gorewada Chowk on Wednesday night. The accused, identified as Prajyot Dilip Sonule (26) and his brother Prateek (23), residents of Uttan Nagar, Gorewada, face charges of attempted murder after attacking Hrithik Kishor Borkar (24) with a sword, leaving him critically injured.
The incident unfolded around 8 pm when Hrithik was confronted by the Sonule brothers near Gorewada Square. An altercation ensued, escalating into physical violence as the brothers assaulted Hrithik. In a brutal turn of events, one of the assailants wielded a sword, inflicting severe injuries on Hrithik.
As a result of the vicious attack, Hrithik sustained life-threatening wounds and is currently undergoing treatment at Mayo Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Upon receiving a complaint from Sunil Duryodhan Borkar (60), father of Hrithik, the police swiftly responded by registering a case under Sections 307 (attempt to murder), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code against the Sonule brothers.
The motive behind the assault is under investigation, and authorities are actively pursuing leads to determine the circumstances that led to this violent incident.
