Unidentified Driver Runs Over Two Women in Nagpur, Caught on CCTV
Nagpur, India- Following a recent incident in Pune where a Porsche ran over a young man and woman, a similar case has occurred in Nagpur. A video showing an unidentified driver running over two women has gone viral on social media. The victims, Mamata Sanjay Adame (55) and Vandana Ajay Patil sustained severe injuries.
On May 7, at 7 AM, Mamata Adame and Vandana Patil were on their morning walk when a recklessly driven Swift car hit them from behind, resulting in serious injuries. They are currently being treated at Suretech Hospital.
The alarming incident was captured on CCTV. Mamata Adame subsequently filed a complaint at Gittikhadan Police Station. The police have registered a case against the unknown driver under IPC Sections 279 (rash driving) and 337 (causing hurt by an act endangering the life or personal safety of others), as well as Sections 134 and 177 of the Motor Vehicles Act.
Despite several days passing since the incident, the victim’s brother, Kishore Kharnorkar, has accused the police of delaying the investigation.
Police Inspector Vinod Kalekar, in response to inquiries by Nagpur Today, confirmed that the incident was recorded on CCTV and that efforts to identify and locate the suspect are ongoing.
