Unidentified Woman Steals Rs 9.98 Lakh from Auto-Rickshaw in Ajni
Nagpur, India: A 50-year-old unidentified woman is allegedly responsible for stealing cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 9.98 lakh from a passenger inside an autorickshaw. Ashwini Lokesh Sherekar, a 33-year-old resident of Tukdoji Complex, Ajni, was returning home with her two-and-a-half-year-old child after shopping for clothes.
While sitting in the autorickshaw, Ashwini noticed an elderly woman already seated inside. She placed her bag beside her and sat with her child on the other side. As the rickshaw passed between Nathe Publication, Medical Square, and Anurag Stationery Shop in Ajni, the woman unzipped the bag and stole a small purse containing Rs 1,50,000 in cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 8,48,000. The theft went unnoticed until later.
Based on the complaint, Ajni Police have registered a case under Section 303(2) of the BNS against the unidentified woman. Further investigations are underway to identify the accused.
