Unknown Vehicle Fatally Strikes Elderly Man
On Friday evening a 60-year-old individual lost his life after being hit by an unidentified vehicle. The incident occurred within the area under the Pardi police station.
The victim, identified as Ramkrishna Maraskolhe, resident near the Pagaria Building, Pardi, Bhandara Road. While navigating the I-turn on the Bhandara-Nagpur highway bypass, Ramkrishna was struck by a vehicle whose driver lost control.
The driver ran away from the scene, leaving Ramkrishna critically injured. Despite being rushed to the hospital, the doctor pronounced him dead. Police have initiated legal action, registering this hit-and-run case under sections of the Indian Penal Code and are currently investigating the case.
Instances of fatalities resulting from reckless driving have been on the rise in the city, raising concerns about road safety.
