Vinay Thakur’s Black and White Photography Exhibition Set to Open in Nagpur Today

Nagpur, India: A three-day exhibition of renowned photographer Vinay Thakur’s black-and-white photography, titled The Power of Monochrome, will take place at Rangayan Hall, Chitnavis Centre, Civil Lines, starting January 3, 2025. With over 50 years of experience, Vinay Thakur is a well-known figure in fine art photography. In the last decade, he has also mentored over 350 photography workshops as part of the Nikon School of Photography.

The exhibition will be inaugurated by Mahesh Aney, the National Film Award-winning cinematographer of Swades. The chief guest for the event will be Vijay Phanshikar, Chief Editor of The Hitavada. Both Aney and Phanshikar, along with Vinay Thakur and fashion photographer Amogh Thakur, will also deliver lectures during the exhibition.

Mahesh Aney will present a lecture titled ‘While Shooting in Bollywood’ on January 3, from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm. On January 4, Amogh Thakur will speak about mobile photography in his session, ‘Click, Edit, Slay: Mobile Photography’, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.

Vinay Thakur will also give a lecture titled ‘Developing Photographic Vision’ on January 3 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. The exhibition will conclude on January 5 with Vijay Phanshikar’s lecture on ‘Photo Journalism’ at 12:30 pm.

The exhibition will feature a wide range of photographs from various genres, including landscapes, nature, wildlife, travel, and street photography. All the displayed works will be available for purchase. The photographs, printed on high-quality archival materials, will be ideal for collectors seeking long-lasting, fade-resistant prints.
