Visits to CSIR-NEERI by the Norwegian Consul General

Mr. Arne Jan Flolo, the Norwegian Consul General, recently paid a visit to the CSIR-National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (CSIR-NEERI), where he met Dr. Atul Vaidya, the institute's director, and Dr. Nitin Labhsetwar, its chief scientist and division head of energy and resource management.  Joint academic and research opportunities between CSIR-NEERI and Norway were discussed during the discussion. The Royal Norwegian Consulate General in Mumbai's Advisor- Economic and Political Affairs Mr. Rahul Maheshwari and Deputy Consul General Ms. Tone Helene Aarvik accompanied the Norwegian Consul General.

Mr. Arne Jan Flolo spoke about developments in the fields of carbon capture, utilisation, and storage (CCUS), cleaner energy sources, sustainable blue economies, and blue hydrogen. He expressed his excitement with India's transition to sustainable energy because it will create enormous economic opportunities.  Mr. Flolo also discussed topics of shared interest in the environment and ecology. Ms. Aarvik emphasised the significance of united international action to combat climate change. 

As we host the Norwegian Consul General for an important international agenda on ecology and environment, it is a new milestone for CSIR-NEERI, according to Dr. Atul Vaidya, Director of CSIR-NEERI. He went on to say that the bilateral ties between India and Norway are crucial to the continued development of both nations. 

The Chief Scientist and Head of the Energy and Resource Management Division at CSIR-NEERI, Dr. Nitin Labhsetwar, spoke in detail on the present regional and global environmental challenges. He gave the delegation a briefing on the most recent accomplishments of CSIR-NEERI that were on display at Harit Sangrahalaya. Additionally taking part in the discussions and providing information on the created technologies were Drs. Sushant Wath and Satish Dabe.
