Voters Asked to Report Missing Poll Slips Before Maharashtra Elections
Nagpur, India: Dr. Vipin Itankar, the District Collector and Election Officer, has issued a notice urging voters to report any instances where they do not receive their election poll slips. This can be done through a specific helpline set up for this purpose in preparation for the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections.
The Election Department has designated 4,631 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to deliver poll slips to each voter’s home, providing them with the correct information about their polling station and voter number. If a voter does not receive their slip, they are advised to contact the helpline at 7757988898, providing their address details for assistance.
The assembly elections are set for November 20, and the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) must deliver the poll slips to all voters at least 48 hours before the election. Dr. Itankar highlighted that this deadline is crucial to ensure that every voter is informed about their polling station and can cast their vote without confusion.
Strict measures will be taken against any Booth Level Officers (BLOs) who fail to deliver poll slips to households. Special teams have been assigned to oversee the distribution process. Voters who wish to file a complaint must provide their full name, EPIC number, mobile number, constituency name, and complete address.
Voters can also find details about their polling station by using the Voter Helpline app or the Voter Services Portal, where they can search using their EPIC number or mobile number.
Dr. Itankar and District SVEEP Nodal Officer Vinayak Mahamuni urged voters to remember the slogan “Your One Vote, Precious Vote” and actively participate in the election by casting their vote on election day.
To promote voter awareness, special arrangements have been made for senior citizens over 80 years old and people with disabilities, allowing them to vote from home if necessary. Efforts are being made to ensure that each polling station is equipped with essential facilities for a comfortable voting experience, with ongoing monitoring by the Election Commissioner.
