Washim District Collector Bhuvaneshwari S has issued a public appeal urging residents to exercise caution as the rainy season begins. She specifically advised against swimming and walking near dams, lakes, rivers, and streams.
Recent incidents have underscored the risks associated with standing in water bodies and taking selfies, which can lead to loss of balance and increase the danger of drowning. This warning follows a tragic event on June 17, when three teenagers drowned. In response, the Collector has strongly recommended avoiding visits to forest lakes and other water bodies.
"For your safety, please avoid these activities during the rainy season," the Collector emphasized.
