Washim, India: Washim District is all set to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will visit Pohradevi in Manora taluka on October 5 to inaugurate the ‘Banjara Virasat’ Nangara Bhavan. Pohradevi, a revered site for the Banjara community, is hosting PM Modi for the first time, and excitement is high among community members.

The event will be attended by prominent leaders including Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, and Yavatmal-Washim Guardian Minister Sanjay Rathod, among others. Banjara representatives from across the country will also be present.

PM Modi is scheduled to arrive at Pohradevi via helicopter at 10 AM on Saturday. He will visit the Jagdamba Temple and pay respects at the samadhisthan of Sant Sewalal Maharaj and Guru Ram Rao Bapu Maharaj before inaugurating the newly constructed Nangara Bhavan. Following the inauguration, he will address a large public gathering.

Pohradevi, often called the "Kashi" of the Banjara community, is home to the samadhisthan of Sant Sewalal Maharaj, the spiritual leader for millions of Banjara followers. The temple of Jagdamba Devi is another key attraction. Each year, thousands of devotees visit the area, and the new Nangara Vastu Museum, built as part of the Pohradevi Development Plan, aims to showcase the history, culture, and traditions of the Banjara community.

The five-story museum, developed with the efforts of Minister Sanjay Rathod, is now complete after its foundation stone was laid in 2018. The site also features a 150-foot Sevadhwaj and an equestrian statue of Sant Sewalal Maharaj. A daily light and sound laser show will take place at 7 PM, and visitors will be able to tour the museum in around 90 minutes. The museum will open to the public after the inauguration, with invited guests allowed to visit from 2 PM onwards on the same day.

In a related event, PM Modi also conducted a virtual bhoomipujan for a water supply scheme in Jalgaon Jamod during a ceremony marking Gandhi Jayanti. Local officials and leaders paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri.

PM Modi’s visit to Pohradevi is expected to be a landmark event for the Banjara community, further boosting pride and recognition for their cultural heritage.
