World Cup Final: PM Modi to Attend Match in Ahmedabad, IAF to Showcase at Closing Ceremony

The Cricket World Cup 2023 final between India and Australia is set to take place on November 19 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, and Prime Minister Modi plans to be in attendance.

A series of events are scheduled for the big day, starting with a ten-minute air show before the match by the Surya Kiran aerobatic team of the Indian Air Force. Additionally, composer Pritam will entertain the crowd with a performance during the mid-innings break.

The Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team, under the Defence PRO for Gujarat, will captivate the audience with a ten-minute air show before the final match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in the Motera area. The show, led by Wing Commander Sidesh Kartik, will involve nine aircraft taking off from Ahmedabad airport and performing a vertical air show above the stadium after the coin toss.

During halftime, the BCCI will honour the captains of all the teams that have won the World Cup, including cricket legends Kapil Dev and Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who led India to victory in 1983 and 2011, respectively.

Music composer Pritam, accompanied by over 500 dancers, is scheduled to perform during halftime on custom floats.

In preparation for the match, the Gujarat Chief Minister conducted a thorough review of security, cleanliness, and traffic management arrangements through a high-level meeting held on Friday.
