Yavatmal Voters Denied Voting Due to Missing Names on List
Vidarbha, Yavatmal, India: A significant number of voters in the Yavatmal Assembly constituency were unable to cast their votes on November 20 because their names were missing from the voter list. The confusion stemmed from the MT EPIC number series, which caused these names to be excluded from both the official voter list and the Voter Helpline system. As a result, many voters were forced to leave without voting.
The Election Department had previously removed duplicate names and addresses from the voter list and updated the records accordingly. However, despite efforts to register the names of voters who were missing from the list during the Lok Sabha elections, some names still failed to appear, leaving these voters unable to participate in the current election.
These voters tried to find their names by consulting the Booth Level Officer (BLO) and also checked the Voter Helpline app for updated information. Despite these efforts, their names were still not found on the list.
Even after searching at multiple centers, these voters were unable to cast their votes because their names were still missing from the list. This caused frustration and anger among the affected citizens.
