Nagpur, India: The Futala Lakeside road will be closed on Independence Day, as per a recent announcement by the city's Traffic Police, to prevent traffic congestion. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Sashikant Satav, has issued a notification under Sections 115, 116, and 117 of the Motor Vehicle Act, enforcing the closure and traffic diversions.
Traffic will be rerouted from the old Octroi Post on Amravati Road towards Ravi Nagar Square and Bharat Nagar Square. The move aims to reduce congestion and ensure smoother traffic flow during the celebrations.
Additionally, the Traffic Police will conduct a special operation around Futala Lake, focusing on curbing hooliganism, particularly among young two-wheeler riders, a recurring issue during Independence Day celebrations.
Motorists are advised to plan their routes and follow the diversions to avoid inconvenience. The police have requested public cooperation to ensure safe and orderly celebrations in the city.
